Architecture Reunited

The shared vision for Reunion Place is to create a collection of two and three bedroom homes inspired by the locale, Hampton — the relaxed coastal atmosphere, the rich and varied built traditions and the sand-belt vegetation that lines the streets and gardens.

DESIGN

Created by Fender Katsalidis Architecture.

The expression of materials at Reunion Place is reminiscent of Hampton’s modernist tradition with its use of glass, timber and masonry. Vertical brickwork along the façade frame the building and showcase a high level of craftsmanship and detail. Eschewing the brutality of a sheer wall, Fender Katsalidis has designed the two horizontal planes to capture the movement of greenery and the articulated forms.

Modernist Traditions.

A harmonious tonal palette comprising warm whites, bronzes, timber tones and silver greys speaks to the beauty of the coastline, while flora on every level softens the building’s strong lines and provides a close connection with nature. Architectural details such as angled windows, trellises and verandahs allow you to beautifully mediate, views and privacy.

Each carefully selected material will age gracefully over time, from brick and stone to bronze toned metal and weathered timber battens. A light grey roman brick, longer and thinner than the standard profile, will be a distinctive element, imbuing the building with character and strength.

INTERIORS

By Fender Katsalidis Architecture

Fender Katsalidis has designed highly liveable spaces that reimagine features of surrounding homes in a contemporary context. Period bay windows are now angled windows with seating nooks, while recessed downlights create warm pools of light to bring depth to the open-plan living spaces.

The master bedrooms each have their own ‘wing’ that includes a walk-in robe and large ensuite, designed for privacy. Upper floor residences also feature generous wrap-around balconies that imbue the home with a feeling of space and light.

These are tranquil spaces to connect with family, friends and nature.

GARDENS

By Eckersley Garden Architecture

A garden laneway framed by tumbling greenery and bathed in dappled light creates a calming transition from the world outside to the residences within. Native plant selections and a sandy palette reference the local coastline, while deep planters create climbing walls of greenery. Top-floor apartments boast roof gardens while second-floor terraces sit within the canopies, and a communal courtyard allows residents to come together enveloped by nature.
